Yea, Bungalow Heaven! For those who missed the tour this year, catch it next time. We lived in Bungalow Heaven when it was first awarded its historic district status, and our home was on the first tour. I was block captain, and worked on signage for the neighborhood. Can't believe it's 20 years ago! What a tour you led, AW!

Hey Shelly! That's a great way to put it, and exactly the way I felt—the changes in altitude create a level of awareness and excitement that's different than any other building I've been in. It's a house that keeps you on your toes, and that was the best part! Thank you again for your hospitality, it was truly a thrill.

Enjoyed your journal. However, in your description of the Kappe Residence, was surprised by your term "treacherous!" In 42 years and with thousands of visitors--architects, students and lay people from all over the world-- that word has never come up before. Most people feel that the open environment, from the first level studio up to the lower living room, upper living room, dining room and kitchen offers a visual excitement and expansive feeling, with its 60' span, bridging from one side to the other, and makes one more conscious of where one is standing. We haven't lost a visitor, yet!

That is so awesome! It was one of the favorite stops. Such an adorable neighborhood, and great for walking around anytime.
