As you might know, we’re having a little problem keeping ourselves from catching on fire these days. This is the Station Fire, about 11 miles away in La Cañada Flintridge as I left the house around 10 am at the top of my street.

Just two hours later, shot from the same place.

Awesome accidental shot from the bus.

One hour later after that, in Los Feliz, looking more like a mushroom cloud.

A little poof rises above the rest, near Vista Hermosa Park.

Another awesome accidental shot, this time from my bike.

A few hours later in Angelino Heights, suddenly taking up the whole horizon as helicopters swarm overhead.

Over Glendale Blvd. in Echo Park. By now the fire had tripled in size.

And finally, the same spot in which we began, about nine hours later. Now the smoke is thick and black…and you can see flames.
