I am really missing Memphis and my all-BBQ diet (wait, not all…I ate fried chicken for one meal instead) after traveling there last week for the AIGA conference Make/Think. I live blogged the happenings on a beautiful site by Citizen Scholar where we collected my thoughts along with with hundreds of other people on Twitter and Flickr. Highlights: I walked all over town to get the lay of the land, interviewed my good friend Stefan Bucher and over at Fast Company, criticized Marissa Mayer for ignoring the role of designers at Google. In the spirit of the conference, I also made a video where I asked a ton of designers what they made and thought that day. The answers may surprise you!

You can see all the posts from my coverage of the mainstage sessions, more videos, and so many amazing photos from everyone at Make/Think. It was such a crazy, whirlwind experience and I’m thankful to everyone who helped make the conference so much fun. Thanks also to the remarkable team (above, in our live blogging “booth”) of Ryan Feerer (web & videography), Randy J. Hunt (design and web amazingness) and Wheat Würtzburger (photography), and of course our friends at Mohawk Fine Papers and AIGA, who brought us to Memphis!
