Sigh. Another freak winter heatwave, which means I’m pretty much legally-mandated to drag myself down the street for some lemon vanilla and Thai iced tea gelato from Pazzo. While there, I usually use my gelateria time to read some stories I’ve downloaded to Instapaper. Today I read about a border collie named Chaser who knows over 1000 words and may have a basic grasp of how language works. It made me wish I had taught my border collie Bonnie some more tricks when I was growing up.
While I was out, I stopped in across the street at Barkeeper, where you can find all sorts of vintage glassware and imbibing accoutrements, including, now, liquor. And they have this amazing bitters-tasting bar where you can sample flavors from celery (green-tasting) to rhubarb (tangy and puckery). I went home with orange blossom.
Okay, this wasn’t the sunset tonight—it was actually taken on Sunday—but the colors go better with the rest of the post. Also, it was 75 degrees that day, too.
