A leg up

Alissa Walker at Compostmodern

I’m still glowing/recovering from the awesome experience of moderating my very first full-day conference. Compostmodern was a huge success and it’s been great to hear all the kind words from people, none of which I can take any credit for (except for my poem). As a way to reminisce, I just came across this great photo by Jaymi Heimbuch, who posted a lovely recap on TreeHugger as well. A few speakers in to the conference, I got word that the people in the balcony thought that the snazzy floral tights I’d specifically chosen to match the identity by Addis Creson were actually leg tattoos. So I ended up addressing the issue onstage, which got everyone laughing. Come on, people! Everyone knows my tattoos would be of gelato scoops.
