Power to the people

The latest issue of GOOD is all about energy, a hot (ha!) topic that we thought would be sure to spark (ha, ha!) some good conversations. So, through Meetup Everywhere, a really nifty little organizing tool for events, we launched the GOOD Energy Party. Tonight, in 28 cities around the world, our readers and fans will get together and talk about the issue, or whatever they’d like as long as it pertains to energy, really. Ben Jervey, our environment editor, will be hosting a Meetup in New York, and he has some tips on how to make a battery with lemon juice and some loose change (for real)!

I’m hosting the Los Angeles Meetup, which will be at 7pm at the city’s most energy-appropriate bar, The Powerhouse, where we’ll have a conversation about making the issue with GOOD’s designers and art directors Casey Caplowe, Keith Scharwath, and Dylan Lathrop. We’ll also probably watch at least one Mr. Wizard clip on our iPhones. So see you tonight if you’re here in LA, and if you can’t make it, be sure to join the GOOD Meetup community near you, or start your own. We’ll be planning more Meetups for upcoming events soon!
