I’m off to one of my very favorite places today, with some of my very favorite people. design east of La Brea, the little design party I co-host every month, is heading very east of La Brea, all the way to Palm Springs, to participate in its annual Modernism Week. We’re hosting a panel tomorrow at the Michael Lord Gallery with five of who we’re calling “original” modernists—artists and designers who were working on projects around the city at the height of Palm Springs’ modern building boom. If you’re feeling like a last-minute weekend in the desert, or just want to drive up for the day, join us! Although I can’t guarantee it will be any warmer or sunnier than LA; it’s actually going to be colder. This may be the first time I’ve worn a winter coat to the pool.
