Talk about a dream assignment! I was asked by the lovely Alex Bozikovic from The Globe and Mail (that’s a Canadian newspaper) asked me to put together a travel piece on the perfect day in Silver Lake, the neighborhood where I’ve lived for a little over a year (pictured above, looking out from one of its highest hills). If you want to know what I’m doing on any given weekend—or perhaps if you wanted to stalk me—this gives pretty much hour-by-hour directions for hitting all my favorite places in my little town-within-a-town. Like most of my days, weekend or otherwise, the day begins with the life-changing coffee of Intelligensia and ends with gelato. In between are places to shop, saunter and sip, and, of course, you can easily walk to all of them. Enjoy!
